Who is Paul?

Hej and Hello. Thank you for visiting my Telephone pages. I am the 6th generation of my family on the same 993 acre (404 hectare) farm in Western Ohio and I have loved working with cattle since the first day I was taken to the barns. I graduated from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music with a BFA in Electronic Media, concentration in cinematography/film/audio editing along with tuba performance, and post graduate in multitrack audio & motion picture production.

I spent five years in the early 80's as a manager, director and producer in the ImageQuest Media film and video production department of Cincinnati Bell Inc. (now called Broadwing) before returning to the farm to operate my herd of 70 head of Angus mother cows full time. I got hooked on old telephones and started my collecting while working on a history of Cincinnati Bell.. I also recently became principal Tubist with the Grand Lake Symphony Orchestra so I consider myself as part cattleman, part telephone man and part musician.

When my father retired in mid-term after 25 years as secretary, I was asked to fill his vacancy on the board of directors of the Buckland telephone Company and currently serve as the board secretary becoming the third member of my family to serve in that capacity since 1903. I am the past vice-president of the board of Bright.net-Ohio Internet and represent the BTC and our shareholders in ownership of Ohiolink Internet, GoldStar CLEC and Horizon Telcom-Sprint PCS. My Full Size PulpitWhen I was in high school in the mid 70s we still had party lines and my number was Buckland 2501. We had no three digit prefix and had to be reached via the operator. BTC fired up our first digital switch in 1983, buried our first fibre runs in 1990, offered local dial-up Internet to rural Ohio in 1995 and today, BTC is the first LEC in Ohio to offer High Speed DSL service including up to 1.5 mbs bi-directional internet to every customer in our rural exchange including those 6 miles from the CO.

I started with a few older American telephones and really enjoy the feel of early wood telephones. I fell for Ericsson when I saw an Eiffel/skeletal My Skeletalfor the first time and was hooked for life when I saw my first pulpit model. I consider myself very fortunate to have added many of my "wish list" models to my collection.

I am always trying to research Ericsson models, learn the old techniques and history and then share what I learn with others. If you see Ericsson information that I am missing or data on my pages that needs some correction or embellishment, please drop me a note and you will Ericsson Contact Magazinehear me get enthused. I am always interested in sharing what I learn and I feel honored to have had photographs and articles on my telephones in both the STSF Phonetiken as well as having had my collection featured in Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson's corporate magazine, Ericsson Contact (Ericsson Kontakten)

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my collections. Thank you for looking and I will try to keep adding new information and photos to make it worth coming back... Med hälsningar från  Paul
